Expressive aromas of fruit and brioche on the nose. Expect fragrances of zesty lemon and green apple flavours.
Kaapse Vonkel holds a pioneering status, being the first Cap Classique ever released in South Africa in 1971 by Simonsig founder Frans Malan. With over five decades of experience in this category, Simonsig has continued to excel in the art of crafting exceptional Cap Classique.
This Cap Classique (bottle fermented sparkling wine) is a blend of red and white grapes displaying the full, balanced yeasty complexity synonymous with a wine made in this style. The wine retains its fresh racy zestiness that is a result of crisp acidity and delicate fruit. Tradition Brut can age for at least 2 years from date of purchase.
This wine is full and dry with well-balanced acid. It has tropical fruit, flintiness and hints of asparagus and figs on the nose. Extended lees contact ensures that it follows through to the palate.
