The Simon Wine Emporium’s extensive portfolio of more than 145 different wines from Stellenbosch Wine Routes member estates was curated in consultation with a number of local specialists. The wines represent all five sub-routes of the Stellenbosch Winelands: Greater Simonsberg, Stellenbosch Berg, Stellenbosch Valley, Helderberg and Bottelary Hills. Carefully considered tasting notes have been provided for each wine.
The list consists of cultivars including Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage and Shiraz, as well as red blends. It also incorporates the ‘old vine’ wines administered by the Old Vine Project, as well as a collection of iconic wines of the region.
Among the iconic wines on offer are Kanonkop Pinotage, Meerlust Rubicon, Vriesenhof Kallista, Le Riche Cabernet, Delheim Edelspatz, Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel, Beyerskloof Pinotage, Rust en Vrede Estate, and Kanonkop Paul Sauer.
If you prefer a particular cultivar, but would like to compare the offerings of different wine estates, our expert panel has curated cases of six delectable wines each – across the sub-routes of the Stellenbosch Winelands and in three price categories: laid back for everyday enjoyment, superior and flagship if you’re feeling indulgent.
For example, you can order a pre-selected case of six Pinotages, one from each of the five Stellenbosch sub-routes and a sixth bottle chosen by our panel that compliments the other bottles – perfect for hosting your own tasting at home with your friends.
If you’d rather choose your own wines, you can put together your own six-bottle case from the Simon Wine Emporium portfolio. Your selection can consist of a particular cultivar across the five sub-routes, or it can be a mix of cultivars from different wine estates – the choice is yours.
