In the cellar
Grapes were handpicked very early in the morning allowing the grapes to retain their fruitiness and flavour. After arrival at the cellar the whole bunches were hand selected before the crushed berries were transferred into a stainless-steel tank. After crushing the grapes underwent a three-hour skin contact in static drainers before being fermented under controlled conditions
In the vineyard
The grenache grapes in the Journey’s End’s delicate but vivacious rosé, hail from the Swartland, making it the Wild Child of the group. Hitherto an arid and windswept wilderness better known for sheep and wheat farming, the challenging terroir of the wild West Coast of South Africa is brim-full of potential to grow fantastic grapes. At 750 meters above sea level, the plateau’s climate is characterised by warm days and cool evenings, which allow grapes to slowly ripen and develop complex fruit flavours.
