Stellenbosch Valley
Stellenbosch Valley is situated south-west of Stellenbosch and covers the triangular area roughly bordered by the R110 and R304 roads. The M12 is the main westerly traverse, and the area extends to the fringes of the Cape Town metropolitan area.
As with the neighbouring Helderberg sub-route, the vineyards of Stellenbosch Valley are subjected to the cooling influence of much-desired ocean breezes. The landscape is a mix of low hills and sprawling agricultural lands linked by winding farm roads, making it a delight to explore – including areas such as Vlottenburg, Polkadraai and the well-known Devon Valley.
Wineries in the Stellenbosch Valley sub-route include:
The most westerly farms: Zevenwacht, Saxenburg
Along the Polkadraai route: Bein, De Toren, Skilpadvlei, Boschkloof
Along Baden Powell Road: Meerlust, Usana, Spier, Van Ryn’s, Vredenheim, Neethlingshof, Lovane
Along the southern border of the Bottelary Hills Conservancy: Jordan, De Waal, Overgaauw
In the Devon Valley area: Brenaissance, Aaldering, Clos Malverne, Louisvale, JC Le Roux, Le Grand Domaine, Meinert
Closer to Stellenbosch town: Dalla Cia, Stellakaya, Rascallion, The High Road, Middelvlei.
All our wines are sold at cellar door prices - the same prices you'd pay on the farm.
