Morgenster Caruso Sangiovese Rosé 2024
R155,00
The Sangiovese Rosé is reminiscent of long, sunny days in Tuscany. It embodies Giulio’s persistence to bring Italian flavours to the Cape Winelands and beyond. Its subtle fruity aroma is balanced with a lingering aftertaste. Pomegranate, red berries and subtle spices make this velvety wine a much-loved addition to any occasion.
Delicate red fruit sweetness of strawberries and pomegranate with hints of cherries. Citrus fruits and zestiness. In the lingering aftertaste, a complexity of rooibos tea gives yet another dimension to this exciting, sophisticated rosé with a dry finish.

In the cellar
Grapes were harvested at two different ripeness levels and fermented with two different yeast strains. Berries were whole bunch pressed and a long and delicate press cycle was chosen to allow for slow extraction of the colour and juice. Fermentation took place in neutral oak for aromatic complexity and colour stabilisation.
In the vineyard
The 2024 harvest was characterised by significant rainfall at the start of the season followed by little to no rainfall from October to April and warm summer temperatures. White and red cultivars ripened earlier and simultaneously. The dry conditions and the picking of the grapes at their ideal ripening stage contributed to great primary aromas and development of berries to produce outstanding quality.
