L’Avenir Glenrosé 2024

Original price was: R300,00.Current price is: R255,00.

South Africa’s first luxury rosé, L’Avenir Glenrosé 2024, was inspired by a trip to Provence by L’Avenir’s winemaker, Dirk Coetzee. Although the wine is influenced by French flair and elegance, it is made from 100% Pinotage and is as proudly South African as can be. This exquisite wine is known for its remarkable character and sophistication, making L’Avenir Glenrosé 2024 a true standout.

A pale onionskin colour. Elegant notes of pomegranate, ruby grapefruit, strawberries and raspberries. A crisp and impressive entry of bright fruit and acidity is followed by smooth textured mid-palate with a long and seductive finish.

This stunning wine, L’Avenir Glenrosé 2024, embodies the spirit of South African winemaking and promises a delightful experience for wine lovers.

In the cellar

Grapes were harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Only free run juice was used. A 20% portion of the wine was fermented and matured in large French oak barrels for six to nine months.

In the vineyard

Produced from a two section of Pinotage vineyards situated on the highest slopes of L’Avenir. With constant wind, elevation and a longer ripening period, these vineyards are specifically managed to craft elegant and refreshing rosé. Grapes were harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. The 2024 vintage benefited from a temperate growing season in Stellenbosch, with moderate rainfall and cool evenings that extended the ripening period. These conditions allowed for concentrated fruit flavors and excellent natural acidity in both red and white varieties. The result is a vintage defined by elegance, complexity, and a distinctive expression.

About the Wine Estate

L'Avenir estate was founded by Mauritian-born, Marc Wiehe, in 1992; prior to which the land had been under vine since the days of Simon van der Stel. L'Avenir swiftly rose to icon status - the 1997 L'Avenir Chenin Blanc was ranked best in the country at that year's Chenin Blanc Challenge& by 2004, no Pinotage had been named as frequently as L'Avenir among the top ten in the annual Top Ten Pinotage Competition. After being acquired by Chablis-based Laroche & following a merger between Laroche & the Jeanjean family, L’Avenir now forms a part of AdVini - a family-owned wine producer with a focus on France & a footprint in Africa in the form of L’Avenir . Despite L’Avenir Estate only having been established in 1992, our soils have been under vine since the beginning of the Stellenbosch wine region. The majority of our vineyards have reached full maturity, resulting in naturally limited yields of the highest quality grapes.
