CWG Warwick Auction Chardonnay 2022

Wine of Origin Stellenbosch

This Chardonnay is crafted from grapes sourced from two distinct Stellenbosch vineyards, one nestled on the foothills of the Simonsberg and the other located on the Helderberg. The grapes undergo meticulous handpicking and whole bunch pressing, settling in the tank overnight. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels, with 33% new, 50% second fill, and 17% third fill 228-litre barrels utilized. The wine matures for 11 months in the barrel, allowing for the development of its unique character and complexity.

Tasting Notes: Classically styled and inspired Chardonnay, oatmeal and mineral nose, supported by notes of by apple and citrus. The palate is light and refined, with a mineral core and lush citrus fruit.
