With an average of just 6500 bottles produced per vintage, this is a unique and special case of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 vintage of the Wade Bales remarkable Cabernet Sauvignon. This offer is inclusive of two bottles of each vintage in a wooden box with the certificate, a must addition to any wine cellar. This is a ground-breaking collaborative regional series where five of Stellenbosch’s best winemakers from each sub-route each contributed their finest Cabernet Sauvignon barrels to produce the ultimate expression of their region’s signature style. The winemakers being; Louis Strydom of Ernie Els Wines, Abrie Beeslaar of Kanonkop Estate, Jose Conde of Stark-Conde Wines, Morne Vrey of Delaire Graff Estate and Christo Le Riche of Le Riche Wines.

Deep ruby hue colour, aromas of dark cherries red currant and dried cranberries yield to palate bursting with those same ripe fruits, a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg and shavings of dark chocolate. Wonderfully complex.

About the Wine Estate
Wade Bales, a negociant for the past 25 years, approached this collaborative project with one thought in mind: to make a wine that is the best expression of Stellenbosch. It had to be Cabernet Sauvignon because that is this area's strongest calling card. He then identified the prime sites or terroir for Cabernet and the most skilled winemakers for them. His request to the five winemakers was to select and contribute their best vineyard block or barrel to a single wine which best showcases the signature style of the region. And for this wine to be a world-class example. Not much convincing was needed to get the winemakers to buy into the concept. All were involved in the rigorous selection and blending process, tasting multiple blends before consensus was reached. And since winemaking is often a solo pursuit, more than one of them commented on the positivity about being part of a team effort. "Coming together to blend the finest example of wine from each of Stellenbosch's five key areas was a really special experience for us all - it highlighted the real sense of camaraderie that exsists between us" - Louis Strydom, Cellar Master, Ernie Els Wines.
