Dark colour with purple edges. The nose shows flavours of dark fruits, ie: black cherries, mulberries and young plums. Also present is spicy flavours of cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper. The palate has a sweet entry to a fresh taste with fruity tannins layered with spicy red cherry and cranberry flavours.

In the cellar
The grapes were hand-picked during the morning. No berry sorting took place and no crusher was used in order to get whole berries in the fermentation vessel. Before filling the tank we put 30% whole bunches and softly stomped with our feet to release juice before we filled the top with the crushed grapes. Ferment started spontaneously before inocculation with Laffort RX60 yeast. Pressing after 11 days on skins and malo-lactic fermentation was completed in barrels. No new wood was used. Bottling In October 2023.
In the vineyard
This was a great harvest season which will produce remarkable wines. Enough rain in the growing season left enough water in the soils to sustain proper growth for ripening of the grapes without stressing. Summer temperatures were moderate during the ripening period, with the absence of characteristic heat peaks. These conditions bode particularly well for flavour retention in the grapes.
This single vineyard are planted on a very low East-West slope on clay soil. The vineyard is on a 4-wire hedge trellis system and planted in 2006. The vineyards are virus-free.
