Le Chant Rouge 2019

All grapes are hand picked, and carefully transferred to cellar where it is initially gently handled by gravitational flow. Following the completion of fermentation and later maceration, we transfer the wines to French oak barrels. After 13 months a portion is transferred to cement tanks for further maturation and a final blend is bottled after approximately 24 months. Thereafter the wine spends 6 months in bottle.

Between False Bay and the vineyards of Le Chant, lie only gently rolling hills nothing to impede the progress of the sea breezes inland. The vineyard aspect, most south west, means that our vineyards receive the full benefit of the breezes’ cooling nature. This influence allows the vineyards to be farmed according to organic principles.

Drinks well now, can age for 7 to 10 years from date of vintage.
