Red berries, rose, fynbos, tea leaf, white pepper and a touch of earth on the nose. The palate is light-bodied with good freshness and fine, densely packed tannins. A subtle and refined rendition of the variety with good fruit clarity and plenty of verve.

In the cellar
The grapes are handpicked in late March, then bunch selected in the cellar and 100% whole bunch fermented for about 21 days at a cool temperature.
We leave it for an extended period on its skin, until the wine has integrated completely. The wine gets pressed in a basket press and aged for about 12 months in 5th and older fill barrels. The reason for this is to celebrate the great aromatics that the Polkadraai Hills gives to Syrah.
