Deep red with a garnet rim.
A melange of blackcurrant, mulberries and raspberries leads on the nose and is backed by lead pencil shavings, cigar box notes, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, and warm spices. A full-bodied palate with tight, linear tannins and a well-balanced acidity lends itself to the rich berry fruit. The Merlot adds beautiful depth to the mid-palate whilst the Cabernet Sauvignon rounds off this complex marriage of the two Nobel cultivars

In the cellar
Cold soaked for four days the wines started fermentation spontaneously, at that point different yeast were added to achieve more complexity. After fermentation two days extra skin contact
was given.
The wines were matured in 225 L French Oak barrels for 20 months. A combination of 30% first fill, 30% second fill and 40 % third fill barrels were used for maturation. After 12 months the wines were racked from barrel and blended in order to improve integration, then returned to barrel for further ageing.
In the vineyard
The cool growth season favoured good tannin ripening, flavour, and colour accumulation. Smaller than usual berries aided concentration and extraction.
