Earlier this year, the industry lost one of its most passionate and effective champions, André Morgenthal.
In what was, by any measure, a life cut too short, André made a lasting impact — from his time as CEO of Wines of South Africa to his pivotal role in building and commercialising the Old Vine Project. Much of what we now take for granted in how South African wine presents itself to the world has his fingerprints on it.
On Tuesday, 16 June at 18:30, friends, family, producers and wine lovers will gather at De Warenmarkt to celebrate his life in the most fitting way possible:
· Good food (the kind he loved)
· Proper stories (the kind he inspired)
· And a few excellent bottles of old vine wine
Tickets are R750 per person, including a donation to a charity André supported for many years. The evening will be addressed by Tim Atkin, who needs little introduction.
Bookings via Dineplan.
It will be special.
