Simonsig Flagship Tiara Magnum (1.5L) 2008

Simonsig Flagship Tiara Magnum (1.5L) 2008

R880,00

This is the flagship red wine of Simonsig and reflects the best quality the vintage has delivered. The first Tiara was made in 1990 and upon release in 1992 it was an instant hit being chosen by the Wine of the Month Club as Wine of the year. The 1997 was the first vintage that had Petit Verdot included in the blend.

Sweet mulberry and violet fruit with earthy forest floor and spicy notes on the nose. Maturation has smoothed the palate to a velvety texture while the firm backbone of the Cabernet gives it a lovely black berry finish. This wane was matured in Simonsig’s cellars for 15 years and is now drinking beautifully.

About the Wine Estate

Simonsig Wine Estate is synonymous with the history of the South African wine industry, the Stellenbosch wine region, and the Malan family name. These elements are intertwined in this family-owned farm, where the late Frans Malan produced the first bottle of our much-loved Kaapse Vonkel, South Africaʼs first Méthode Cap Classique made in the classic bottle-fermented style. He is also honoured for co-founding the thriving Stellenbosch Wine Route, a first in its time. Today, his legacy lives on through his sons, Francois and Johan, and grandchildren Christelle and Michael, the 2nd and 3rd Malan generations at Simonsig Wine Estate.
