This Chenin Blanc has a bright, pale straw colour with a delicate scent of wildflowers and fruit especially Cape Honeysuckle, white peaches and pineapples with a delicate underlying minerality. The palate fully matches the nose with a creamy sensation and a texture that combines elegance and intensity and concentrated fruit flavours.

In the cellar

The wine was made with minimum interference to reflect the true character of the Moordenaarskloof vineyard.The bunches are gently pressed to ensure cold natural clarification of the juice. The juice was fermented in upright fermenters with the aid of selected yeast strains. Temperature was maintained at 25-28°C. A combination of pump-overs and rack-and-returns were used during fermentation. The wine spent an average of 18 days on the skins. Matured for 14 months in 300L French oak barrels, of which 45% were new. The wine was then left on the lees until bottling as is evident in the creamy texture on the palate.

This wine has some ageing potential and can be aged until 2024, provided that it is kept in the proper and appropriate conditions.
