This wine has a citrus charm with hints of spanspek, kiwi, lime, green apple and pear. Clean and fresh with melon and lime, following well from the nose onto the palate, ending with a hint of butterscotch. A well rounded and good structured wine, with a long and soft finish.

In the cellar
The grapes for this wine were hand picked from vines with a yield of approximately seven tons per hectare and at a sugar level of 21.5ºB. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and then left on the lees for four months to add structure to the palate, stabilized and bottled.
In the vineyard
Vineyards are situated on De Meye in the western part of the Muldersvlei region, north of Stellenbosch. The vineyard faces south-east and a cool westerly wind during the ripening period months ensures healthy balanced grapes.
Ageing
Made to be enjoyed now. However, it can be aged for up to two years provided that it is stored in the proper conditions.

About the Wine Estate
De Meye Estate is a family-owned winery, situated in Muldersvlei on the Stellenbosch Wine Route, arguably South Africa’s most prestigious winemaking region. The Myburgh family has been farming in this area for five generations. The vines growing on De Meye farm have been carefully selected to suit the unique terroir of the area. The red varietals grown include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz while Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc make up our white varietals. The farm is 100ha in size and holds the winery, cellar and storage. The whole process from the vineyards to the cellar and further to sales and exports is handled inhouse and by doing this we can ensure the high quality and authenticity that distinguishes De Meye.
