This 2023 vintage Bush Vine Chenin Blanc was made with carefully selected grapes from a 41 year old Single Vineyard Bush Vine block, from the farm Sonop, Stellenbosch. The vines, with rootstock Richter 99, were planted in 1982 by Francois du Bois.
This wine showcases a captivation golden colour and a welcoming aroma reminiscent of ripe citrus and honeycomb. Its velvety texture finishes with lively acidity, leaving a lingering taste of apricot intertwined with saline minerality.

In the cellar
Secondary fermentation and aging for 319 days in 90% French oak barrels and 10% Amphora pot. This wine showcases a captivation golden colour and a welcoming aroma reminiscent of ripe citrus and honeycomb. Its velvety texture finishes with lively acidity, leaving a lingering taste of apricot intertwined with saline minerality.

This 2023 vintage Bush Vine Chenin Blanc was made with carefully selected grapes from a 41 year old Single Vineyard Bush Vine block, from the farm Sonop, Stellenbosch. The vines, with rootstock Richter 99, were planted in 1982 by Francois du Bois. The soil type, which is derived mainly from granite, is reddish to yellow in colour, acidic with good physical and water-retention properties; mainly Oakleaf, Tukulu and Clovelly soil types.

About the Wine Estate
Koelenhof Wine Cellar is situated among vineyard-covered slopes, 14 kilometres outside the beautiful town of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape region of South Africa. As far as Stellenbosch wine farms go, visitors can expect to find a wide range of products and services at their winery. Koelenhof Wine Cellar emerged from humble beginnings as a bulk wine producer. The grower-owned winery was established in 1941, with the De Vries family at the helm. Members of the family continue to play an integral role at the winery, supported by a dedicated team of staff and loyal partners. Today, Koelenhof presses 16,000 tons of grapes every year – the fruit of the labour and commitment of 70 local shareholders.
