Kaapzicht Pinotage Rosé 2023

Kaapzicht Pinotage Rosé 2023

R115,00

Light pink in colour with buckets of strawberries and cotton candy bursting forth on the nose, accompanied by subtle herbaceous and rose petal undertones. Light and refreshing on the palate, with the wine showing good acidity which carries the flavours through and leaves you wanting more.

Sharing this bottle at sunset watching the sky turn pink is a favourite thing to do, especially under an wild olive tree at the top of a hill. If the night goes well, this wine will be good for sunrisers too. Made for spontaneous and carefree moments.

Grapes are machine harvested and spend three hours in the press to extract colour. After gentle pressing the juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Various yeast strains are used for inoculation to preserve and exhibit true varietal characters. 10% aromatic Sauvignon Blanc is blended into the wine after fermentation to make Kaapzicht’s signature Provençal-style rosé. The wine is aged on fine lees until bottling.

About the Wine Estate

Kaapzicht is a 4th generation family farm, wine is their passion, their livelihood and their life. Their wines are grown on old weathered granite soils on the north-western slopes of the Bottelary Hills (warm direct sunlight) , 30 km from the Atlantic Ocean (cool sea breezes) and have thus a perfect combination of everything needed to create full bodied, fruity wines. On 190 ha (162 ha under vineyards) they grow 70 % red cultivars, (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Pinotage, Cinsaut, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Pinot Noir) and 30 % white cultivars (mainly Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, some Muscat d'Alexandrie and even less Chardonnay). A beautiful farm with a marvellous story behind each wine, a must visit on your next trip to the Stellenbosch Winelands.
